Synopsis: John Weaver examines Exodus 2:23-25, where Israel finally cried out to God under unbearable bondage. He argues that people tolerate tyranny as long as it is sufferable, and only when oppression becomes insufferable do they groan and cry to God. Weaver catalogs modern American examples of government waste, unconstitutional spending, and loss of liberty, urging believers to recognize the depth of national corruption and cry out to God for deliverance, as only God can remedy the situation.

Introduction: The Cry of Israel in Exodus 2
Weaver reads Exodus 2:23-25 and notes that Israel sighed and cried because of bondage, and God heard their groaning.
I want you to open your Bible today, if you would please, to the book of Exodus chapter 2. Exodus chapter 2. We're going to read verses 23 through 25. The title of the message is, "Are You Groaning and Crying Yet?" And I think you will understand why. The message that I'm going to be preaching today is a little different from what I normally do, but I think you can understand the importance of it as well as the implication of it. Exodus chapter 2 verse 23,
"And it came to pass in the process of time, that the king of Egypt died, and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage. And God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, and with Isaac, and with Jacob. And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them."
I suppose we could truthfully say that each of us have groaned and each of us have cried.
The Nature of Their Groaning and Crying
The words 'sigh' and 'cry' indicate deep mourning and assembling to cry for help; their oppression was so great they cried aloud to God.
Sighing and crying go together. The word "sigh" actually means to mourn and to groan with great pain and sorrow. The word "cry" actually means to assemble together to cry out for help. So it should be pointed out then that it took great mourning and great groaning and great pain and great sorrow to finally get the Israelites to cry out to God for help. If you'll notice what the scripture says, "it came to pass in the process of time that the king of Egypt had died." Perhaps they expected when the former ruler died, they thought maybe some relief might come with the change of administration.
The Harshness of Egyptian Bondage
Exodus 1:13-14 describes hard bondage in mortar and brick, back-breaking work that bent them over; God later made them go upright.
Why were they groaning and crying so? Well, I want you to look back in Exodus chapter 1 and verse 14. And here's what the Bible says. Exodus 1 verse 14, talking about the Egyptians. In fact, let's read verse 13.
"And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigor, and they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in mortar and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field, all their service wherein they made them serve was with rigor."
Now I want you to note they made them serve with hard bondage in mortar and brick. Years ago I had a friend who was a brick mason who had a stroke.
He was able to recover and use one hand. I helped him during his stroke. I helped him a little before his stroke when he was getting sick, with his brickwork. If you've never mixed mortar, I could ask Roy, if you've never poured cement and carried cement, we have done that. It is hard, absolutely back-breaking work. I want you to turn in your Bibles to the book of Leviticus, chapter 26, and let me show you what God said concerning the deliverance of the children of Israel. Notice Leviticus chapter 26 and verse 13. You'll understand maybe this hard, back-breaking work when the Bible says they were made to serve with brick and in mortar. Notice in the book of Leviticus chapter 26 and verse 13 what God says. Leviticus 26 verse 13. God says, "I am the Lord your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their bondman, and I have broken the bands of your yoke and made you to go upright." What does he mean, "made you to go upright"?
In other words, you started walking straight and tall. You weren't bent over because of the bondage and the oppression. By the way, when the Bible says that they cried and God heard their cries, the Bible informs us that God will always hear the cries of people who are persecuted and oppressed. For instance, go back in your Bibles to the book of Exodus chapter 22, and let's begin looking there at verse 22. Exodus 22, verse 22. I want you to note what the Bible says. Exodus 22 and verse 22. God says, "You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child. If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry, and my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with a sword, and your wives shall be widows, and your children shall be fatherless." What did God say? "You shall not afflict them. If you afflict them, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cries." Did you know that in the book of James chapter 5 and verse 4, God sends a warning to rich people and He says this, "Behold, the hire of your laborers who have reaped down your fields, which is kept back by you by fraud, crieth, and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of the Sabbath."
God Hears the Cries of the Oppressed
Scripture promises God hears the cries of widows, fatherless, and defrauded laborers; Israel's cry reached God.
God said when people are oppressed, when they're defrauded, when they're persecuted, and they cry, I will hear them. Now, Israel was defrauded. Israel was oppressed, persecuted, and tyrannized. Therefore, God said in Exodus chapter 6 and verse 5, "I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage, and I have remembered my covenant." Note what God said, "I have heard the groaning of the children of Israel."
Why Israel Delayed Crying Out
Israel had become accustomed to bondage; people tolerate tyranny while it is bearable, as the Declaration of Independence notes.
Now I've got a question that needs to be asked. Why were the children of Israel so slow in crying out to God? Very obviously they were groaning and crying previously, but maybe not with great urgency and great vehemence. Why had they not cried out before they did? Could it possibly be, now listen, that they had become accustomed to their bondage and accustomed to their tyranny? I want you to look back in Exodus chapter 2, and the Bible says this in verse 23, "and it came to pass in the process of time." What was the process of time? Well, I submit to you in the immediate context, it would probably have to be 40 years. Because don't you remember how Moses had tried to deliver them previously when he killed the Egyptian, thinking they would understand? They did not. And then when Pharaoh got after Moses, Moses had to flee and he was in the desert of Midian for 40 years. When you get to Acts 7 verse 30, don't turn there, let me just quote it. The Bible says that when 40 years was
expired, there appeared to him, that is to Moses, in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire
and a bush. So, after 40 years, in the process of time.
Now, the children of Israel certainly had been in bondage more than 40 years. You have to remember, when God appeared to Moses, he was 80 years old, and the reason his mother placed him in the little ark in the river was because Pharaoh had demanded the death of all the male children. So there's 80 years, and of course, very obviously, we know 430 years they were in Egypt, but probably for the first 50 or 60 years, they weren't in bondage. They did not really get into bondage until after Joseph died, and another Pharaoh arose who knew not Joseph.
But it says "in the process of time." So here they are in bondage all of this time. They're in captivity all of this time. They're under tyranny all of this time. And they're not crying out to God. Why? Well, they'd gotten accustomed. They'd gotten used to their bondage. Do you realize it is an absolute fact that most of us will bear up under tyranny and despotism while it is bearable? But here's a question. Why do we tolerate even the very first invasion of our God-given rights?
Why are we willing to suffer while evils are sufferable? Do you realize this very truth was enunciated in the Declaration of Independence? Listen, "Prudence indeed will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient reasons. And accordingly, all experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed." Isn't it interesting that we get accustomed? We get accustomed to being robbed, pillaged, defrauded, abused, controlled, manipulated, deceived, lied unto, and tyrannized. Do you realize as long as it is sufferable, the average man will put up with it, as long as it is light at first.
Modern Reasons to Groan and Cry
Weaver lists federal tax code complexity, criminal code expansion, wasteful stimulus spending, RFID tracking of children, funding of Islamic sites, and illegal immigration costs as evidence of tyranny and theft.
If you were to take the Ten Commandments, you will find that there are 313 words in the Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments summarize, they sum up our duty toward God and our duty toward man. So God then is able to list a summation of His law in 313 words. In contrast, here is man's imperfect law. Listen carefully. I'm going to read a couple of these. The federal tax code today covers 17,000 pages and requires over 700 different forms.
The IRS estimates, the IRS now, they estimate Americans spend 5.1 billion hours annually preparing their taxes. The Tax Foundation estimates that those wasted hours drain some 194 billion dollars annually from the United States economy. And all that comes before Joe Taxpayer forks over his first dime. The federal criminal code is just as bad. Listen to this. Thomas Jefferson wrote that the United States Constitution gave Congress the power to criminally punish treason, counterfeiting the securities and current coin of the United States, piracies, felonies committed on the high seas, and offenses against the law of the nations, and no other crimes whatsoever. Yet the Federal Criminal Code today spans over 1,400 pages, and that's only the pocket edition. The Federal Registry, which records all the regulations the federal government imposes on business, all of which carry the force of law, now exceeds 75,000 pages. The Office of Management and Budget estimates that merely complying with these regulations, that is paying lawyers to keep educated on them, interpret them, and implement them, costs United States businesses another 500 to 600 billion per year.
Congress creates, on the average, one new crime every week. Federal agencies create thousands more. In fact, there are so many crimes. Now in the books, I'm quoting, that the Congressional Research Service itself said that merely counting them would be impossible. A report estimates that there were 4,000 federal crimes at the start of 2000. This report updates the total through 2007, finding an additional 452 crimes created in 2007 for a total of at least 4,450 federal crimes. Now you compare 4,450 federal crimes with what Jefferson said was the five areas only in which there could be federal crimes. These do not include state laws and state crimes.
Let me show you how far we've come. James Madison, who is known as the father of the Constitution, since he was a secretary at the Constitutional Convention, he said this, "We have staked the whole future of American civilization not upon the power of government, far from it. We've staked the future of all of our political institutions upon our capacity to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God." By how far we have come. We have lost the concept that true liberty only comes through the law of liberty and that law of liberty is found in the word of God.
So let me ask you a question in light of this. Are you groaning and crying yet? Are you sick and tired of the wastefulness, the fraud, the corruption, the debauchery, the politics, the criminal activity on the part of our elected representatives? Now, if you're not really groaning and crying yet, I've got some things that might make you tend to groan. I hope I've got some things that might just infuriate you. I hope I've got some things that might make you start to act like the children of Israel and cry out to God. If you're not upset, maybe this next little news bit will upset you.
Feds spent $800,000 of economic stimulus on African genital washing program. Monday, September the 13th, 2010 by Matt Cover, The National Institute of Mental Health, a division of the National Institute of Health, spent $823,200 of economic stimulus funds in 2009 on a study by a UCLA research team to teach uncircumcised African men how to wash their genitals after having sex. The genital washing program is a part of a larger 12 million dollar UCLA study examining how to better encourage Africans to undergo voluntary HIV testing and counseling. However, only the genital washing study received money from 2009 economic stimulus law. The washing portion of this study is set to end in 2011. Are you groaning yet? Anyone stupid enough not to know how to wash and take care of themselves ought to die out! I'm not talking about individuals who have organic mental problems. I'm talking about individuals who are so despicably and desperately depraved they don't have an ounce of common sense or biblical sense to take care of themselves. And by the way, I hope you normally know that you get HIV or you get AIDS from either fornication or sex or sodomy or drugs. You don't get AIDS by being faithful to your wife or faithful to your husband.
So I've got some other questions. If African men are so stupid, why isn't the African government doing something? Why should United States taxpayers spend their tax dollars, waste their tax money, on such a senseless project to support depraved, debauched activities? Why in the world would our government be so stupid as to do something so unconstitutional when it knows it has absolutely no constitutional authority to do so? I'm just asking, are you groaning and crying yet? You want to know why we're in the trouble we're in in this country? Here's another one. This will help you. Schools tag kids with RFID chips, stimulus money used for tracking every move inside school building. September the 15th, 2010, a California school district is using some $115,000 of federal stimulus money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to have kids wear vests with RFID chips embedded so their every move inside the school complex can be monitored. A report from Tech Daily News cites the work of the Contra Costa County Employment, California naturally, and Human Service Agency, which already spent $50,000 setting up the system for our first Head Start school. Now, Head Start, you're talking about five and six-year-old kids. "We did some research, and we thought this would be a good utilization of the money," Karen Mitchoff, an agency spokesman, told Tech Daily News. Oh, Karen said, "we thought this would be a good, really, utilization of money." Oh, really?
Who is the "we"? And the question has to be asked, do not the students have teachers? Are they not being monitored? Why would children be allowed to wander all over buildings anyhow? Why are they not in a classroom? If they're there to learn, why is not someone teaching them? Why is not someone watching them? I have another question. Why would you waste money on chips when what most of them need is a rod?
You can't teach without discipline. And we've lost discipline. Are you groaning yet? Are you crying yet?
Now I've got news for you. If that hasn't made you mad, maybe this one will. I'm just showing you folks, it is time that we start crying to God where God can hear our voice. U.S. funds restoration of global Islamic sites. Associated Press, August 24, 2010. Washington. Lord have mercy, that's a curse word. The goodwill tour of the Middle East by the imam behind the proposed mosque near Ground Zero is just part.
By the way, we spent $16,000 of U.S. money to send him on a trip. It is just part of the United States government's efforts to reach out to the Muslim world. This year, the Obama administration will spend nearly $56 million to restore 63 historic and cultural sites, including mosques and minarets in 55 nations, according to the State Department documents. Under a program established by Congress in 2001, the department will fund at least five projects in as many countries at a cost of more than $271,000. The contributions, isn't that amazing what they call it, the contributions include $76,135 for the 16th century Grand Mosque in China, $67,500 for the 18th century mosque in Pakistan, an additional $62,169 will be spent monitoring a 19th century minaret in Mauritania, another $50,437 is for a mosque in New Delhi, and $15,000 to restore the 18th century minaret in Nigeria. The amount spent on mosque restoration projects is a fraction of the total 2010 Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation, which also will fund projects to restore Christian and Buddhist sites, as well as museums, forts, and palaces.
Since 2001, the United States government has spent almost 26 million dollars on the program to fund 640 cultural preservation projects in more than 100 countries. Now I want to tell you something. I suppose I read as much as any man and probably more than most men. I've never read and I've never heard of our government restoring one Christian building. Now there may be one, I don't know. But I've never read of it and I've never heard of it.
But the truth of the matter is this. The government has no right and has no authority to restore any of those buildings, Muslims or Christians. If the Muslims want a building, let them fund it. If Christians want a building, let us build it. It is not the duty of the government to go around restoring buildings in other cultures and other countries. That is their responsibility, not ours. Has it entered your mind to groan yet? Has it entered your mind to say, "Oh God, help us"? I want you to turn in your Bibles to the book of Judges chapter 6. I've said this before, I'll say it again. I know it's going on tape, but I'm saying it again. We either have the most stupid politicians or the most traitors. You decide which. Either the most stupid or the most traitorous. Treasonous. Look in Judges chapter 6.
We need Davy Crockett back again. Look in Judges chapter 6 verse 1. This is absolutely phenomenal.
"And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord. And the Lord delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years."
Now, I want you to watch. "And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel, because of the Midianites, the children of Israel made them dens which were in the mountains, and caves, and strongholds. And so it was when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them, and they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth till thou comest to Gaza, and left no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor ass. For they came up with their cattle and their tents, and they came up as grasshoppers for multitude." "For both they and their camels were without number, and they entered into the land to destroy it. And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites. And the children of Israel cried unto the Lord. And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, because of the Midianites, that the Lord sent a prophet unto the children of Israel, which said unto them, Thus said the Lord God of Israel, I brought you up from Egypt, and brought you forth out of the house of bondage, and I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all that oppressed you, and drave them out from before you, and gave you their land. And I said unto you, I am the Lord your God."
"Fear not the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell, but you've not obeyed my voice." Now I want you to note something about this passage. I want you to take note that the Israelites again did not cry out to God until they were practically destroyed. They had to build dens and caves in the mountains. They were fearful. They were outnumbered. The Bible tells us the enemies came up on the land to destroy it. That was their purpose. And they came up as grasshoppers. They left nothing.
Neither cattle, nor sheep, nor oxen, nor fruit, nor fields. They destroyed it all. In other words, everything that the Israelites had worked for was either stolen, confiscated, or destroyed. The Israelites were helpless. They were impoverished. They were defeated people. They were in bondage and they were helpless. And the reason they were in this fix to begin with is because they had forsaken God and His Word. What had they done?
They had turned to idolatry. And now that they are at their wits' end, and they have nothing, now they're willing to cry out to God for deliverance. Isn't it amazing that it takes absolute destruction to make us cry out to God and recognize we're in trouble? You say, "But wait a minute, Brother Weaver. Boy, such a thing like that could never happen in America." Oh. You say, "Man, we've worked hard and we've saved our money and we're getting ready to retire soon and we're going to retire with ease and comfort." Well, get ready to groan and cry because here's the headline, "Retirement Fund Trillions Lure Government Grabbers" by Peter Raymond. Listen, is the government making plans to confiscate your retirement money?
The Obama administration is certainly exploring the idea. The question no longer seems far-fetched, when the group thinkers in Washington unabashedly promote a doctrine of wealth distribution and central planning. These Keynesian socialists know that they will need vast new resources of revenues to fund their relentless spending binges to transform this nation. A logical next step would be to legitimize the confiscation of private retirement assets, an idea that was contemplated in the recent past by the Clinton administration.
Now listen, according to the Investment Company Institute, there's nearly $8 trillion in IRAs, 401Ks, 457s, 403Bs in 2009. That is certainly too large a sum to be ignored by the big spending social engineers in Washington. Bureaucrats and politicians have been hard at work formulating a social justice excuse to legislate an historic seizure of private assets. This would not be the first time the state has extorted wealth from US citizens on a massive scale. What's going to happen to your 401Ks and your IRAs? Well, if the government doesn't steal them, since it's in paper, it's probably going to be worthless anyhow. Or electronic digits. Well, let me ask you a question. Why in the world would the federal government want to confiscate your private assets? Why would they want to confiscate your retirement? Well, you've got to answer the question and here it is. Number one, because they're covetous, they want it for themselves. And number two, since they believe in social justice, they want to take what you have worked for and give it to someone who has not worked for it.
You say that's ridiculous. Here it is. Bill Wickens put this out to answer the question, why is the United States bankrupt? Here are just some of the answers that he found. And by the way, this is only dealing with one subject. And there is documentation, which I have, for every one of these. I'm not going to read it. But you can verify everything that I'm about to quote to you. Why is the United States bankrupt? Here it is.
$11 billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year by state governments. Billion, not million. $2.2 billion a year is spent on food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches for illegal aliens. We're not talking about people in this country, just illegal aliens. $2.5 billion a year is spent on Medicaid for illegal aliens. $12 billion a year is spent on primary and secondary school education for children here illegally and they cannot speak a word of English. $17 billion a year is spent for education for the American-born children of illegal aliens known as anchor babies. $3 million a day is spent to incarcerate illegal aliens. 30% of all federal prison inmates are illegal aliens. $90 billion a year is spent on illegal aliens for welfare and social services by the American taxpayers. $200 billion a year in suppressed American wages are caused by illegal aliens. The illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that's two and a half times that of white non-illegal aliens.
In particular, their children are going to make a huge additional crime problem in the United States. During the year of 2005, there were 4 to 10 million illegal aliens that crossed our southern border. Also as many as 19,500 illegal aliens from terrorist countries. Millions of pounds of drugs, cocaine, meth, heroin, marijuana crossed into the United States from the southern border. The National Policy Institute estimated that the total cost of mass deportation would be between $206 and $230 billion, or an average cost of $41 to $46 billion annually over a five-year period. In 2006, illegal aliens sent home to Mexico 45 billion in remittances to their countries of origin. The dark side of illegal immigration, nearly 1 million sex crimes committed by illegal immigrants in the United States. Here's a total. Just on the illegal alien problem alone, 338.3 billion is what the United States government pays because of their corruption and because of their unconstitutional actions in funding and supporting illegal immigration. $338.3 billion a year.
The Pattern of Crying Out in Judges 6
Israel only cried to God when impoverished and destroyed by Midian; they had forsaken God and turned to idolatry.
Has it entered your mind to groan yet? Has it entered your mind to say, "Oh God, help us"? I want you to turn in your Bibles to the book of Judges chapter 6. I've said this before, I'll say it again. The Threat of Retirement Confiscation
Government may seek to seize private retirement assets; this is covetousness and social justice redistribution.
The Obama administration is certainly exploring the idea. These Keynesian socialists know that they will need vast new resources of revenues to fund their relentless spending binges to transform this nation.
Acknowledging Theft by Government
Representative Tom Perello admitted lawmakers keep stealing; the commandment against theft applies to government.
Asked about keeping Social Security and Medicare in the black, Perello faulted lawmakers who had raided the cookie jar and urged passage of legislation that would tie our hands so lawmakers can't keep stealing. "If there's one thing I've learned up here, and I didn't really need to come up here to learn it, is the only way to get Congress to balance the budget is to give them no choice," he said. "The only way to keep them out of the cookie jar is to give them no choice, which is why, whether it is a balanced budget act or pay-as-you-go legislation or any of that, it's the only thing. If you don't tie our hands, we will keep stealing." Those were his words.
God's Response to Crying Out
When Israel cried, God heard, remembered His covenant, looked with favor, and delivered them with a mighty hand.
And so what did that representative say? "Stop us before we steal again." Are you groaning and crying yet? I want you to go back to Exodus chapter 2. Look in Exodus chapter 2. And let's go back to verse 23. Watch carefully. "And it came to pass in the process of time that the king of Egypt died and the children of Israel sighed by reason of their bondage and they cried." Now look, "and their cry came up to God by reason of their bondage." Pay attention. "And God heard their groaning and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and Jacob. And God looked upon the children of Israel and God had respect unto them." It is only when our bondage and our tyranny becomes insufferable and unbearable that we cry out to God. That we cry out with such vehemence. And we cry for repentance and restoration that God hears us. What did God do? God heard. He not only heard, He remembered His covenant. And then He looked down with favor upon them.
If you will turn in your Bibles to the book of Deuteronomy 26. Deuteronomy 26, beginning there with verse 6. Moses is rehearsing the blessings of God and he says this, Deuteronomy 26, beginning there with verse 6. Deuteronomy 26, verse 6.
"And the Egyptians evil entreated us and afflicted us and laid upon us hard bondage. And when we cried unto the Lord God of our fathers, the Lord heard our voice." "And looked upon our affliction, and our labor, and our oppression. And the Lord brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders. And He hath brought us into this place, and hath given us this land, even a land that floweth with milk and honey."
Note, if you would, it was God who sovereignly, powerfully, miraculously brought them out.
The Loss of American Liberty
Quoting Lysander Spooner and H.L. Mencken, Weaver argues the War of Northern Aggression enlarged slavery to all; we must cry to God for deliverance.
I want to end this with two quotes. I've preached so much so often on the fact that we really lost our country in 1865 when the war of northern aggression was ended. That's when we lost our republic, we lost our constitution. There's a man who was an attorney, an abolitionist, an entrepreneur. I certainly don't agree with him on everything, but he wrote a wonderful treatise on the jury, Lysander Spooner. But although he was a northerner and an abolitionist, he had this to say about the war of northern aggression. Listen carefully. He said, "The principle on which the war was waged by the North was simply this, that men may rightfully be compelled to submit to and support a government that they do not want and that resistance on their part makes them traitors and criminals. No principle that is possible to be named can be more self-evidently false than this, or more so evidently fatal to all political freedom."
"Yet it triumphed in the field and is now soon to be established. If it really be established, the number of slaves, instead of having been diminished by the war, has been greatly increased. For a man thus subjected to a government that he does not want is a slave. And there is no difference in principle, but only in degree, between political and chattel slavery. The former no less than the latter denies a man's ownership of himself and the products of his labor and asserts that other men may own him and dispose of him and his property for their uses and at their pleasure." Let me paraphrase what Spooner just said. The War of Northern Aggression did not abolish slavery, it merely enlarged the plantation. Now we're all slaves. H.L. Mencken said this, "The American people, North and South, went into the war as citizens of their respective states. They came out as subjects. What they thus lost we have never gotten back." It is time to groan and cry and ask God to make bare His arm and to raise up men with wisdom and discernment to know what to do and how to do and when to do. God can put us in the position, like He did Israel, to make us groan and cry.
Conclusion: A Call to Groan and Cry
Weaver urges believers to groan and cry to God for wisdom, character, and divine intervention before it is too late.
We ought to have sense enough to start groaning and crying before we get in such a state individually. Are you groaning and crying yet? Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we bow to Thee this day. We thank You for Your Word and for Your truth and for Your blessings. And Lord, we are living in desperate times, wicked times, depraved times, ungodly times. And Lord, we do need wisdom and we need, Father, character and courage and brokenness to cry unto Thee and ask Thee, Father, to make bare Thy arm and to remedy the problem, for only Thou canst do it, and only Thou canst do it correctly and rightly and permanently. Give us grace to be obedient and to be holy and to be godly. In the name of Jesus Christ we ask and pray, Amen.
